IMPORTANT: Make sure your passports are up to date. The Philippines will not accept any foreign passport that will expire less than 6 months from the date of entry! (Seriously.)
Booking Your Trip
In order to get to the island of Boracay, you should first book a roundtrip flight to Manila (MNL, Ninoy Aquino International Airport). Then, book another roundtrip flight from Manila to Caticlan (MPH, Godofredo P. Ramos Airport). From there it’s just a short boat ride from Caticlan to Boracay!

Time Travel
The Philippines is 15 hours ahead of US Pacific Time. So even if the flight is less than a day, you’ll lose a day when you get there. But you gain back the time on your way back home!
To make it by the wedding, the latest you can leave the US is Thursday, April 24, 2024 - not recommended but doable.
Jet Lag
Give yourself an extra day upon arriving to the Philippines as well as when you return home to adjust to the time change. Your future self will thank you!

Flights to Manila
Philippine Airlines
PROS: The only nonstop flight options to Manila – saves the most on total travel time.
CONS: They are not your cheapest option.
Stop: none, direct to Manila.
Eva Airlines
PROS: They’re usually the cheapest flights. Taiwan is fun to explore (we’re talking night markets for our foodies).
CONS: More travel time for flying and layovers.
Stop: usually via Taiwan (about 2.5 hour flight to Manila)
Singapore Airlines
PROS: Singapore is a Hot Spot destination in Asia and a cultural melting pot.
CONS: Almost as expensive as PAL. More travel time since you’ll have at least 1 extra stop.
Stop: usually via Singapore (about 3.5 hour flight to Manila)
Flights to Caticlan
Philippine Airlines
Cebu Pacific-NOT RECOMMENDED see note
Air Asia
NOTE: Philippine Airlines, Air Asia and Cebu Pacific are the only airlines that fly to and from Caticlan (MPH).
NOTE: Cebu Pacific is notorious for multiple flight delays and/or cancellations (24 hours before planned departure). Rebooked flights have not been guaranteed (it may be cancelled again). We do not recommend booking Cebu Pacific. If you pick this option - you’ve been warned.
Flight to & from El Nido
Air Swift
Air Swift owns and operates the airport to El Nido, Palawan so this would be your only airline flight option.
If you fly to another airport in Palawan, expect to travel by van for about 6 hours!
